Floral Designer Branding: Boukates

Client: Katie Lloyd, 30A-based Owner and Floral Designer, Boukates (selection from full set of images below).

Background: After a successful career as a luxury floral designer in Atlanta for many years, Katie recently moved her business to coastal 30A. She approached me to create branding images for her that incorporated the beach, Florida's scrub oaks and other native coastal vegetation.

Strategy: At our brainstorming session, we decided to focus on her design process for a beach wedding, and to capture her in the beach environment, bringing in fresh florals, trimming stems, designing arrangements, and putting the finishing touches on an installation. We collaborated on a mood board to inspire shots and attire, and created a "can't miss" shot list, as well as a detailed packing list, to ensure we checked every box.

Execution: Katie and I spent half of her session on the coastal sandy trails and dunes of Grayton Beach, as I captured her creating wedding florals among the scrub oaks and other native vegetation. The second half of our shoot was oceanfront, as I captured her creating unique wedding ceremony arrangements atop some gorgeous acrylic columns. We even made time for few family shots at the end... because family is an integral part of a small business's brand!
